Losing four journalists at once is a record

Via @leighsales, here’s the BBC’s newest comedy series: Taking the Flak. The Beeb’s comedy blog calls it “a comedy-drama following a team of journalists in an African warzone”, and it might just be the funniest thing to come out of the BBC since _The IT Crowd_.

It’s the story of a BBC stringer, working in a little country in Equatorial Africa, whose country suddenly becomes a hotbed of international news… in flies the BBC’s chief international reporter, and it all goes downhill from there. Think [Frontline](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontline(Australian_TVseries)) in the depths of Africa, with fixers and stringers and child soldiers and busted plumbing and “what goes on tour stays on tour” - and, inexplicably, LOLcats.

If you’re in the UK, you can get it on iPlayer; everyone else can hit up Mininova.

Update: here’s the promo.
