International relocations: not fun

It’s almost done.

Three weeks, five sets of going-away drinks, two eBay auctions, twelve boxes, and six articles of checked baggage later, I’m sitting in Melbourne airport waiting for my flight.

Here is an appropriate picture of a cat, with a grammatically incorrect caption. Apparently it’s what all the cool kids are doing these days.

If you thought that was interesting, here’s an academic deconstruction of the above, with the funniest caption you’ll see all day.

Update: I’m on the ground! It’s half past midnight, 27 degrees, and 95% humidity. I’d post a photo of the view, but my camera lenses keep fogging up when I take them outside. Clearly this is unacceptable, I’ll remedy the situation tomorrow.

  1. Ross says:

As Chow Yun Fat says in the trailer for Pirates 3 – “Welcome to Singapore.”

  2. Eleanor says:

    Yay, glad you arrived safe.
Sent your parents off this morning with a cup of coffee and a full trailer. Alex is in this arvo.
    Let the rearranging commence….

  3. Josh says:

Ross: Funny, that – I was just going to write about that. Look out for a post tomorrow.
El: Thanks for taking care of all that stuff of mine; hopefully the living room’s a little bit less messy now! (And I’ll be back for those cels soon, as well.)

  4. Ross says:

Back? As in quick jaunts to continue with the movings?

  5. Josh says:

Yep! (Not specifically to continue with the movings, though – there’s half a bag of assorted junk, and that’s about it – but I’ll be back fairly soon.)
