Kiama Blowhole

Kiama Blowhole 2, originally uploaded by Shiny Things.

Water explodes from the Kiama Blowhole, a natural fissure in the igneous rock around Kiama’s lighthouse.

Under the right conditions (generally involving a hurricane-force onshore wind, so, no thanks), the blowhole’s bursts can reach up to 25 metres into the air. This was a near-calm day, but the explosions were still pretty impressive.
