They’re all a bunch of prudes at the Gray Lady. From an article running today about Cee-Lo Green (emphasis added):
Though the original’s gutter-crude title and matching lyrics, addressed to an unrequited love, are not fit for publication in this newspaper, the revised version was sufficiently kid-friendly that Gwyneth Paltrow covered it on this week’s episode of “Glee.”
The staid Financial Times, on the other hand, gives 114 results in a search for the first word in the title of Green’s song. The Economist’s website spits out 96 results, including this memorable letter to the editor.
The worst Sweary Marys, though, are the potty-mouthed hippies at the Grauniad: 7,006 results.
Here’s the song in question – with some appealing typography added.
