The Northeast isn’t the only part of America that gets spectacular colour displays in the autumn. These cottonwoods grow along the Jemez River – and around this time of year, they turn from boring green to traffic-light yellow.

Here’s another snap from the Jemez area – a nice, placid mountain-grass plain. Really.
