The Urwerk 202 has appeared on JRE many times before. It’s a marvel of engineering, roughly a quarter million dollars’ worth of watch, I want one very very badly, and there are only about 100 out there, tops.
So imagine my surprise when I saw this in the window of the Passions watch store down the street. (They even let me try it on; it’s a bit heavy, but wow does it look good.) The only problem: even second-hand, it’s still $125,000 SGD – roughly a 2003 Ferrari 360 in the USA, or a 2005 BMW M3 in Australia, or a 2006 BMW 323i in Disneyland-with-the-death-penalty.
No contest really.
If you still can’t make up your mind (maybe because you’re one of those enviro-weenie tree-hugging dope-smoking weird-beard types who’d rather have the watch because cars make Gaia cry), here’s the promo video for the Urwerk 202.
Side note: The really messed-up thing here is that a 2006 BMW 323i in Singapore costs exactly the same as a 2003 Ferrari 360 in the USA. This is not the place to be if you’re a car nut.
