The scene from 34,000 feet, on SQ228, somewhere northwest of Bendigo. The entire state of Victoria was covered in a thick layer of salmon-coloured bushfire smoke. (It was much more impressive near Melbourne – I’m kicking myself for not taking some more snaps earlier in the flight.) The clouds almost looked like icebergs floating in a sea of smoke.
Also: shadows cast by the clouds through the smoke, and a nice snap of the view over Uluru from 34,000 feet.
