  • During the men’s high jump finals, I bet a JRE reader twenty bucks that the five-foot-six Swedish bloke would beat the six-foot-six Michael Palin lookalike from Russia. In hindsight, that may have been a tad unwise;
  • There’s a runner in the men’s 200m named Jaysuma Ndure – and he’s running for Norway. POSSIBLY A RINGER;
  • Usain “Lightning” Bolt was looking to his left as he crossed the finish line in the second semifinal of the men’s 200m. We figured out that he was looking at his own image on the big screen. Hubris?
