Me: So, uh, didn’t I shred the tendons and stuff?
The Doc: Yes, you did. I had to tack them back to the bone.
Me: But isn’t cutting the tendons really really bad?
The Doc: Yes. But you’re pretty much fixed. See? Make a fist.
Me: Ow ow ow OW THAT DOESN’T FEEL FIXED!
The Doc: Stop whining and start using your hand. You’ll be fine; I’ll take the stitches out on Saturday.
So – despite mangling the tendons and the skin, leading to an hour in surgery and twenty-some stitches, I’ll be pretty much fixed by the end of the week.
