“It can hardly be a coincidence…”

“… that no language on earth has ever produced the phrase ‘as pretty as an airport’. Airports are ugly. Some are very ugly. Some attain a degree of ugliness that can only be the result of a special effort.”

Douglas Adams must have been sitting in Los Angeles International when he wrote those words. I’ve heard the horror stories about it being a Bad Airport, but never seen ’em until now.

If you’re ever flying into the west coast of the USA, fly via Vancouver or SF (I can recommend flying Air NZ and changing in Auckland). For the sake of your sanity, don’t subject yourself to LAX.
