This is the standard trick of those who portray a whole branch of science as a personality cult. Do you refer to gravity as Newtonism?

… please don’t blaspheme against Newtonism. Our local Newtonist church gathers with great ceremony every week and if it weren’t for all the prayers offered up by our visiting scientists you wouldn’t have any gravity. If you ridicule us we may have to switch yours off.
